The new Mission: Impossible Rogue Nation trailer: A whole lotta wanton acts of mayhem

Tom Cruise and Rebecca Ferguson in Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation (David James)

“This may be our last mission,” says Jeremy Renner during the amazing new trailer for Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation, “let’s make it count.” Spoiler alert: They do, thanks to an array of stunts and set pieces that would make Dominic Toretto jealous.

Once again, the big moment in this teaser is star Tom Cruise hanging off an airplane. (“They brought me this plane, and I was looking at the model,” director Christopher McQuarrie told EW. “And I said to Tom, ‘What if you were on the outside of this plane?’ I was kinda half joking when I said it, and he just looked at me and said, ‘Yeah, I could do that.’”) But don’t sleep on that car chase, or that motorcycle chase, or that part where Alec Baldwin, as a bureaucrat looking to shut down IMF, says, “You and your team will answer for every wanton act of mayhem you are responsible for.” (Pause here to imagine the shared universe that could exist between Mission: Impossible and Fast & Furious.)

In addition to the derring-do, the new Rogue Nation trailer has another highlight: Led Zeppelin’s “Whole Lotta Love.” Best trailer of the summer? Decide for yourself by watching below.
