Life is a sonic highway, and Dave Grohl wants to ride it all the way into a second season.
The Foo Fighters frontman has announced that he was planning to do another season of his HBO music documentary miniseries Sonic Highways. Airing last fall, the eight-episode series chronicled the music history in eight different cities via Grohl’s interviews with musicians and producers while showing the band recording a song in each place, which became the band’s eighth studio album, Sonic Highways.
“There is going to be another Sonic Highways season,” Grohl told NME. “It might or might not be international. It might someday be international. It might only be England—or be England and other places. Or maybe it’s places in America, and people from other countries that are inspired by these places in America. The great thing about the idea… is that it can be anywhere, because every city has some sort of musical history… Of all places in the world, England and the UK just seems like it would be—like shooting fish in a barrel, you know. They’re just so f—in’ much here.”
Grohl didn’t offer any specifics or a timetable, and an HBO representative was unable to confirm on Monday that a second season has been given a green light.
