When Donald Trump announced on Tuesday that he will run for president, his press conference was fueled by the Neil Young standard “Rockin’ in the Free World,” a truly patriotic song from maybe the most American of Canadians.

To the surprise of virtually no one, Young wasn’t a fan of Trump’s usage of the song. The singer released a statement Tuesday afternoon that expressed as much, as well as clarifying who exactly is Young’s preferred candidate. “Donald Trump was not authorized to use ‘Rockin’ In The Free World’ in his presidential candidacy announcement,” according to a statement released on behalf of Young by his management company. “Neil Young, a Canadian citizen, is a supporter of Bernie Sanders for President of the United States of America.”

Watch for the 69-year-old to eventually join Sanders onstage somewhere along his tour.
