Chance The Rapper is set to star in an upcoming murder mystery film called Slice, as a character named Dax who happens to be a pizza delivery guy. “When a pizza delivery driver is murdered on the job, the city searches for someone to blame: ghosts? drug dealers? a disgraced werewolf?” the description on IMDb reads. Chloe Grace Moretz will be replacing Dakota Fanning as the lead in the indie flick Brain on Fire. Thomas Mann (Me and Earl and the Dying Girl) and Will Poulter (We’re the Millers) will play the male leads. Fanning left the project due to scheduling conflicts. Gerard Barrett will direct this adaptation of Susannah Cahalan’s bestselling memoir, which tells the story of a young woman’s abrupt dive into madness due to a mystery illness. John Carroll Lynch has joined The Founder, the story of McDonald’s titan Ray Kroc (Michael Keaton). Lynch will be playing Mac McDonald, who founded the original McDonald’s Hamburgers in 1940 with his brother Dick (Nick Offerman) in San Bernardino. Kroc joined the brothers, eventually taking over. Laura Dern, Linda Cardellini, and Patrick Wilson also star. John Lee Hancock will direct the film which is set for a November 25, 2016 release. [Deadline]
Gwendoline Christie has signed on to Swallows & Amazons, a film based on the Arthur Ransome children’s story, which centers on four children in 1929 on vacation with their mother in the Lake District. They are allowed to sail to a nearby island in their boat Swallow and set up camp there for a few days, but they soon realize that it is the territory of two girls who sail the Amazon, and a rivalry forms.
