Welcome to the Spoiler Room, a safe place for spoiler addicts to come on a weekly basis to learn what’s coming next on their favorite shows and, hopefully, get a few of their own questions answered. If you want scoop on a specific show, send your questions to email@example.com.
Will Arnim Zola play a role on the second season of Agent Carter? — Helga
Despite teasing the Winter Soldier program at the end of season 1, the plan is to go in a different direction. “At this point, we’re telling a new story,” EP Tara Butters says. As for the new threats in season 2: “People who are fans of the Marvel comic book universe will recognize our villain and there’s more than one villain,” EP Michelle Fazekas adds. “We’re certainly taking inspiration from the comic book universe, so anybody who knows that will be rewarded.” Any guesses?
If Hawaii Five-0 is kicking off with a pirate/treasure storyline, does that mean we won’t find out what’s going on with Catherine and Steve when the show returns? — Alyssa
Fear not! “We never just deliver plot,” EP Peter Lenkov says. “There’s plenty of character stuff in the first episode in season 6, including a huge turn in the McGarrett/Catherine relationship.”
Is it too early to get any scoop on the new season of You’re the Worst? — Tim
Never too early! Jimmy and Gretchen have not weaseled out of the season finale events and are, in fact, still living with each other. I know this because I got the lowdown on a special outing—no, not Sunday Funday. Taking a tip from Robin Sparkles, the foursome are headed to… the mall! No seriously, I hear there’s an entire episode where they all head to their local mall. Jimmy is searching for literary inspiration, while Edgar and Lindsay are a little more practical on the hunt for wings, of the chicken variety. But Gretchen faces one of her toughest challenges when she attempts to buy adult things, like a toothbrush.
I’m really looking forward to seeing Supergirl at Comic-Con next week. Is there anything you can tease about her powers? — Dan
Kara basically already knows what powers she has, though she’s not as adept as her cousin at using them. “We’ll absolutely see some flashbacks of her discovering them, because she was 12 years old when she landed here, and she didn’t have these powers on Krypton,” EP Ali Adler says. “Kara hasn’t used these powers very much or very well. There will definitely be a learning curve at the beginning of the season.”
How much will we see Maleficent and Lily on the new season of Once Upon a Time? — Jaimie
Because the focus is on Emma becoming the Dark One — did you see the awesome shots of the Dark Swan? — the hunt for Lily’s father will take a backseat for at least the first five episodes. “We intend to tell that story at some point this season,” EP Edward Kitsis says. “We set it up for a reason. That is one we are definitely intending to do.”
Anything Graceland will do. — Derek
Charlie’s quest for Germaine is going to provide a lot of insight into her background. “She does talk about her father and what happened to him and her involvement in it,” Vanessa Ferlito tells me. “I think season 3 is going to focus a lot on her family, too. She’s going to need them. I can’t say why.”
Do you know how long Hayley is going to be stuck in wolf form next season on The Originals? — Dalia
The Crescent Curse won’t be broken during the season premiere, so she’ll be howling for a little while longer.
What’s coming up on Wayward Pines? — Harry
I never thought I’d say this, but there’s an episode coming up where you’ll actually root for Nurse Pam. However, the mind-controlling Megan Fisher will quickly take the mantle of the most-hated character in town—yes, yes, even though she gave up her whole life to protect humanity. “There is something noble about that, and there’s something insane about that,” EP Chad Hodge says. “I don’t want to say everyone gets what they deserve, but there is a comeuppance for everybody, and everybody winds up in a place that is unexpected.”
What does the introduction of English court mean for our favorites on Reign? — Michelle
More than anything, it means there are more people around to cause drama. Specifically, I hear the show’s casting for someone to play Elizabeth’s English Ambassador to France. But more than that, he’s going to serve as Elizabeth’s spy. Like I said, more drama.
Can you tell me anything about Chasing Life’s return? — Ally
Well, you can probably tell from the promo that much of the show is going to revolve around April and Leo’s upcoming wedding. But the biggest surprise of the season 2 opener doesn’t have anything to do with the show’s love triangle. Instead, you’ll finally learn the meaning behind the show’s title, and it’s not what you think. (Hint: It involves April’s father.)
Best news I’ve heard all week: You know when you can’t get a song out of your head? Well, I can’t get the Once Upon a Time theory that King Arthur is Hook’s dad out of my head! It’s probably not true. Probably.
That’s a wrap on this week’s Spoiler Room. I’ll be heading to San Diego next week for Comic-Con, so Spoiler Room will be on hiatus next Friday. Don’t worry, that just means it’ll be back with a vengeance the following week. Be sure to email your questions to firstname.lastname@example.org or tweet them to @NatalieAbrams.
