NBC has said no to another chapter from The Good Book.

EW has confirmed that the Peacock won’t order a second season of A.D.: The Bible Continues, after the event series from Mark Burnett and Roma Downey drew a little more than 6 million viewers and a 1.0 rating in adults 18-49 during its 12-episode run that wrapped June 21.

The series picked up after The Bible, the couple’s ratings juggernaut that aired on History in 2013. The Bible was also adapted into the movie Son of God in 2014.

Burnett and Downey hope to use the franchise to launch their new online channel that’s projected to launch in late 2015 or early 2016. The goal is to stream faith-based programming.
