Blur's Damon Albarn carried offstage after refusing to stop playing at Denmark music fest

Blur’s Damon Albarn didn’t want to leave the stage at this weekend’s Roskilde Music Festival in Denmark—so he didn’t. And that meant a security guard had to physically carry him off.

In a fan-shot video from the show, Albarn leads a rendition of the Clash’s “Should I Stay or Should I Go” when a security guard approaches him to seemingly tell him it’s time to go. The crowd begins chanting, “We want more,” but their pleas aren’t enough to keep Albarn there: The same security guard later returns to the stage to pick Albarn up and take him away.

Albarn was performing as part of Africa Express, a music collective made up of dozens of musicians including Paul McCartney, Björk, and Flea. The fan who uploaded the video wrote that it was shot at 4 a.m.—five hours after Africa Express’ 11 p.m. start time.
