“I’ve dated a few girls in my life,” Jenner tells EW, laughing. “Nothing crazy, but I’ve had a lot of experience with the whole dating scene. I’ve been through good relationships and bad relationships. “
Jenner has leveraged that extensive know-how into a new gig as a sex talk-show host. In his upcoming E! series Sex With Brody, the 31-year-old will deliver plain-spoken sex talk addressing everything — and anything — below the belt.
“There’s not that many shows out there that talk about sex, so I wanted something where we’d take callers,” says Jenner, who cites MTV’s Loveline and The Howard Stern Show as the inspiration for his self-titled series. “We make it informative and just have fun with it.”
The roundtable talk show — costarring relationship expert Dr. Mike Dow and comedian Stevie Ryan — will feature Jenner as he answers viewer calls, takes on man-on-the-street-style interviews, and hosts celebrity segments. The good-humored reality star will also play the occasional game on air. (One gem from the pilot? Jenner plays a game called “Balls Deep.” Yes, really.)
And while Sex With Brody takes on a subject that Jenner is comfortable with, the show’s format is entirely different than anything Jenner has done before.
“I’ve been doing reality shows, producing them, creating them, and being on them as well, since I was 20 years old. That was over a decade ago, and I just really wanted to do something that for me was different,” he says.
But Jenner — who has starred on shows including Princes of Malibu, Party Monsters: Cabo and Bromance, a series where like-minded bros completed for a spot on Jenner’s entourage — doesn’t regret his time climbing ranks of reality TV. In fact, he says his familiarity with the medium will definitely influence the tone he’ll take in his talk show.
“Nothing is off the table,” says Jenner, whose dad is Olympian and Keeping Up With The Kardashians star Caitlyn Jenner. “At the end of the day, I’m a very open person. I mean, I’ve been on reality shows pretty much my whole life, so that’s definitely help me be more open.”
That being the case, we just had to ask: what does the self-proclaimed “Dr. Drew” consider great — not just good — sex?
“I always like to please,” Jenner says. “You don’t ever want to be selfish in bed and just worry about yourself. You have to make sure you’re worrying about the other person. Great sex is for two people to have a great time.”
Sex with Brody premieres July 10 at 10:30 p.m. ET on E!.
