The cast of Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. wouldn’t be able to spill any secrets about the upcoming third season even if they wanted to — they’re kept on a strict “need-to-know basis,” Elizabeth Henstridge told us in the Entertainment Weekly Lounge at Comic-Con in San Diego on Saturday.

Ming-Na Wen added that the writers and producers “take great joy” in keeping them in the dark, to which Iain De Caestecker joked: “They’ll just come up to you and be like, ‘Can you ride a unicorn? Okay, just wondering,’ and you don’t know why!”

Of course, as an actor, the answer is always, “Yes,” though Clark Gregg advises a little one-upping: “I own a unicorn!”

For more on why the next season of S.H.I.E.L.D. — which begins shooting later this month — is a “really big deal” for comic-book fans, check out EW’s full interview with the cast above and leave your hopes and dreams for next season below.
