The cast of Suicide Squad just made a surprise appearance at Comic-Con

Warner Bros. brought Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice to Comic-Con on Saturday afternoon, but the studio had more than just the burgeoning Justice League on the ground in San Diego. The cast of Suicide Squad – including Will Smith, Jai Courtney, Joel Kinnaman, Margot Robbie, Cara Delevingne and Viola Davis – made a surprise appearance at the Warner Bros. panel alongside director David Ayer.

“All this good vs. evil shit is played out,” Ayer said at the panel. “It’s time for bad versus evil.”

The director showed a sizzle reel for the forthcoming blockbuster, which is filming now. While Jared Leto did not appear at the panel, the star’s version of The Joker did feature in the teaser. “I’m not going to kill you, I’m just going to hurt you really, really bad,” Leto’s evildoer says in the clip.

Out next August, Suicide Squad features a rogues’ gallery of DC supervillains, all of whom team together to battle a larger evil. Ayer has been teasing the film’s production on social media for months, including offering up a first look at Leto as the Joker and the full cast line-up.
