Heading into Comic-Con’s Hall H on Sunday, Supernatural fans were given tea light candles with the phrase “Always Keep Fighting” on them. For Jared Padalecki, that phrase has a very special meaning. Back in March, Padalecki launched a T-shirt campaign featuring that phrase in order to raise money for the charity To Write Love on Her Arms, which aims to spread awareness and help those struggling with depression, addiction, self-injury, and suicidal ideation.

So when the audience Q&A portion began during the Supernatural panel, audience members paused to hold up their candles in a tribute to Padalecki’s work. And now, Padalecki — who has spoken publicly about his own struggle with depression — has posted a thank-you message to his fans on his Facebook page. Padalecki wrote that he was “beyond moved” by the gesture, and he assured his fans that, “everybody who held a light for me, please know that I hold my light for you.”
