Happy Emmeline Pankhurst Day! The U.K. holiday honors one of the most celebrated women’s rights activists, a militant outlaw who fought for the right to vote and rallied thousands of women around the globe. To celebrate, the upcoming drama Suffragette has released new teaser art featuring Carey Mulligan and Helena Bonham Carter — plus Meryl Streep as Pankhurst herself.

Mulligan stars as Maud, a working-class mother who secretly joins the suffragette movement led by Pankhurst. As Maud unites with women from all walks of life in the battle for equality, their activism sparks aggressive police retaliation and nationwide debate. Directed by Sarah Gavron and written by Abi Morgan, Suffragette also stars Brendan Gleeson, Anne-Marie Duff, and Ben Whishaw.

Suffragette will open in New York and Los Angeles on Oct. 23 before expanding nationwide.
