YG addresses his shooting in new song 'Twist My Fingaz'

YG was shot in a recording studio last month, and now he’s talking about it in his music.

The Compton rapper released the G-funky “Twist My Fingaz” on Thursday, a day after teasing it on Instagram. It’s an old-school West Coast joint produced by Terrace Martin,  and the hook borrows the flow on Eminem’s classic “Without Me,” but that’s the least noteworthy talking point.

“Twist My Fingaz” is the song YG teased for Billboard in his first interview after the shooting. He references the incident — when one bullet hit his hip — in the second verse.

Hold up, I really got something to say
I’m the only one who made it out the west without Dre
I’m the only one that’s about what he say
The only one that got hit and was walking the same day
I tried to pop first, got popped back
Got hit in the hip, couldn’t pop back

Listen to the groovy single above, which will be on YG’s second album, Still Krazy.
