Almost 20 years ago, Tom Cruise gave us a glimpse of life off the field as sports agent Jerry Maguire in the Cameron Crowe film. On Aug. 11, Esquire Network takes it a step further with their new show The Agent. The documentary series offers a glimpse into the lives of four real-life sports agents as they attempt to sign the most promising young football players ahead of the 2015 NFL draft.

In this exclusive clip from the upcoming show, we get a first look at the four agents who represent tomorrow’s NFL stars. First, there’s Ed Wasielewski, a self-proclaimed “blue collar agent” from Newton, PA. “I’m just going to roll up my sleeves and do the work,” Wasielewski says. “It’s not easy.”

Sunny Shah, on the other hand, knows he’s young and flashy, but believes he’s earned respect in the business by consistently landing top draft picks. Then there’s California-based Jeff Guerriero, who doesn’t believe you can ever be too aggressive in football. And last, we have Peter Schaffer from Denver, who prefers to bet on the underdog.

See what it’s like to fight for the best when The Agent premieres Aug. 11 on Esquire Network at 10 p.m. ET.
