Jason “Jace” Alexander, best known for directing episodes of Law & Order and Rescue Me, was arrested Wednesday on child pornography charges.

Alexander, 42, is charged with one felony count of promoting a sexual performance by a child and one felony count of possessing an obscene sexual performance by a child, Westchester County (N.Y.) District Attorney Janet DiFiore announced Wednesday.

On Friday, an investigator from the D.A.’s office downloaded child pornography traced to a local IP address, according to a press release from DiFiore’s office. The ensuing investigation indicated the IP address originated from Alexander’s home, and a search of Alexander’s computer hardware yielded “digital files of children who are less than 16 years of age engaged in child pornography,” according to a press release.

Alexander is being held on $10,000 bail and is due in court Nov. 19. He faces up to seven years in state prison if convicted.

Alexander directed 32 episodes of the original Law & Order and 19 installments of the Dennis Leary-led Rescue Me. He’s also acted in several roles for television and TV movies, and was a co-executive producer on NBC’s Blacklist for 16 episodes between 2013 and 2014. Last month, Alexander was elected second vice-president of the Directors Guild of America.

Representatives for Alexander did not immediately respond to EW’s request for comment.
