Anderson East likes to groove. Live, his shoofly pie-sweet drawl and blues-influenced backing is simultaneously euphoric and mommy-and-daddy-need-some-time-alone sexy. The Athens, Alabama native’s first album didn’t properly echo that unique blend, but once he linked up with Nashville producer du jour Dave Cobb (Sturgill Simpson, Chris Stapleton, Jason Isbell), they found their funk. Delilah, released in early July, is a breezy 10-track album that will have you swaying and crooning along.

Today, he’s sharing a playlist that is, as he says, “perfect for putting your arm around somebody.” Rife with throwback soul tunes and newer fare, cue it up to get right on down.
