It was an eventful week for One Direction fans — the band dropped their first single as a foursome, “Drag Me Down,” a few days after Zayn Malik announced he’d signed a solo contract with RCA — and now Malik has given his former bandmates a show of support for their new song.

“Proud of my boys the new single is sick,” he tweeted on Saturday. “Big love. :) x.”

Malik revealed Wednesday that he signed with RCA, explaining that he left the band “for this moment to be given the opportunity to show you who i really am.”

Other members of One Direction, meanwhile, tweeted about “Drag Me Down,” which is currently sitting atop iTunes’ Hot Tracks chart after its surprise release.
