Jessica Williams addresses whether Daily Show field segments are real

(Comedy Central)

With more than 2,800 field segment interviews recorded over Jon Stewart’s run on The Daily Show, it may be easy to wonder: Were all of those interviews real, or did the correspondents coach them to answer in ridiculous ways? Well, fear not: Jessica Williams assures us they’re real. And while they may not be spectacular, she went back to re-interview anyone who was still taking her calls.

Take Dr. James David Manning, who met with Williams to discuss his last appearance on The Daily Show, in which he compared President Barack Obama to Adolf Hitler. He’s changed his ways, though. He now looks at Obama as more of a son of Satan figure.

Watch the new interview below, as well as Williams’ attempt to check in on another former interviewee.
