It’s official: Jason Sudeikis will return to Earth.

Fox announced on Thursday that the SNL alum will guest-star in the upcoming season of The Last Man on Earth. He popped up in the last scene of the post-apocalyptic comedy’s season 1 finale, playing the astronaut brother of Phil (Will Forte) who is floating in space.

The network did not reveal the number of episodes in which Sudeikis will appear, or when he will be back, but the news was hardly a surprise, given the cliffhanger nature of his guest spot, as well as the fact that Forte has teased his return a few times, including at Comic-Con. “I don’t see him being up in space forever,” Forte hinted to EW back in May, adding: “He used to live in Tucson as well, so it seems natural that he might try to go back and see what’s going on with his hometown.”

Fox will air The Last Man on Earth‘s season 2 premiere on Sept. 27.
