Oops, she’s coming to TV again: Britney Spears is going to guest star on  The CW’s Jane the Virgin

Spears announced the casting herself on Twitter that she’s joining the second season of the Golden Globe-winning dramedy series:

Jane the Virgin showrunner Jennie Snyder Urman replied that the casting was a “dream come true for us” and teased that Spears will play a part in Rogelio de la Vega’s (Jaime Camil) storyline.

“We are so thrilled that Rogelio’s ‘nemesis’ – Britney Spears – has agreed to appear on Jane The Virgin in [the fifth episode of season 2],” Urman said. “Personally, after hearing about their long standing fued (from Rogelio’s point of view), we are eager to hear Ms. Spears’ side of the story, which we assume is quite different. #TeamBritney”

Spears previously appeared on a couple high-profile episodes of How I Met Your Mother and was on NBC’s Will & Grace. But no summary of Spears TV is complete without a scream and shout-out for her reality effort — which aired on The CW forebear UPN—Britney & Kevin: Chaotic.

In other CW news, EW also reported that the Nicholas Sparks novel and film The Notebook was in development as a TV series. That story here. Jane the Virgin returns Monday, Oct. 12.
