Marc Maron kept President Obama's coffee cup as a souvenir from their WTF interview

(CBS)

Marc Maron’s WTF interview with President Barack Obama in June was a milestone moment for the comedian’s podcast, and Maron revealed just how important the occasion was to James Corden on The Late Late Show Tuesday night.

There were many precautions that Maron had to take when preparing to interview the president in his garage. “I couldn’t offer him a drink so he came with his own to-go cup with the presidential seal on it,” Maron told Corden.

Maron noticed Obama did not take his cup of coffee with him when the interview was over so Maron had an idea for a souvenir: “He just left it there and I’m like, ‘I’m putting that under a glass dome,’” Maron joked.

The comedian also discussed his insecurities about having the president in his house, and how he had to ask his excited neighbor if he was okay with snipers being stationed on his roof. Check out the full interview above.
