Kelly Clarkson’s Piece by Piece tour has been full of surprises — cover songs, open-mics, and fan requests — but Wednesday night she announced the biggest surprise yet: Clarkson is pregnant with her second child.
“I was not planning on announcing this, but … I’m totally pregnant,” she told the crowd at Los Angeles’ Staples Center. “I’m having a really hard time,” she said while trying to get through the song “Piece by Piece,” which is about both her father and her husband, Brandon Blackstock. “I’m gonna nail the sh– out of this song. That was not how I wanted to announce that. I hate this song right now.”
As seen in fan-shot footage, the crowd went wild with support and applause. After she finished the song, she said, “I’d like to apologize to my husband. That was not planned. I just didn’t want you to think I was crazy or something. Honestly, I’m just so hormonal today. I haven’t vomited yet. That is a freakin’ win, y’all.”

Not to let her announcement outshine the series of covers she’s been performing at each show, Clarkson later launched into Demi Lovato’s “Cool For The Summer,” in honor of Lovato’s birthday.
The Staples Center even congratulated her.
