Deadmau5 says 'We Are Your Friends' flop restored his faith in music

While Zac Efron may not be having the best time after his EDM movie We Are Your Friends had one of the worst opening weekends in history, EDM star Deadmau5 had quite a positive reaction to the news.

He tweeted Monday: “Well if anything restored my faith in music, apparently that zac efron trying to be a DJ movie bombed out this wknd.” He continued, writing about the film’s major financial losses, and praising that other little music movie that’s dominating the box office: Straight Outta Compton:

We Are Your Friends made an estimated $1.8 million on its opening weekend in 2,333 theaters, making it the third-worst wide release opening in box office history (behind Delgo and Oogieloves in the BIG Balloon Adventure).
