New Sicario clip ratchets up the tension for Emily Blunt

(Richard Foreman)

A good thing to keep in mind while watching the newest clip from Sicario is that you need to remember to breathe.

The snippet of the film, from director Denis Villeneuve (Prisoners), puts FBI agent Kate Macer (Emily Blunt) right in the middle of a conflict between the shady task force she’s volunteered for and the cartel soldiers trying to stop them as they move a high-value target back across the border into the United States.

In addition to Blunt, the film also stars Benicio del Toro and Josh Brolin and reteams Villeneuve with his cinematographer on Prisoners, Roger Deakins (Skyfall), a fact that’s important for anyone who enjoys tense movies that are also really, really, ridiculously good looking.

Sicario opens in limited release on Sept. 18, before expanding on Oct. 2.
