In today’s breaking Harry Potter news, J.K. Rowling has announced that we’ve all been pronouncing Voldemort’s name wrong. Apparently, the author intended for the final T to be silent. Not that pronunciation matters, since we’re also not supposed to say his name at all.
Rowling spilled the beans on Twitter when responding to a fan who noted the piece of trivia.

If you need me I will be pronouncing Voldemort with the T because he’s not French and I refuse to believe it is silent.

JK Rowling says the T is silent in Voldemort. I need to go sit down.

I’m picturing Voldemort insisting on the silent T like a nerd hipster and gets all bent out of shape when ppl pronounce it wrong < RT

I’ve got enough problems to deal with today without @jk_rowling telling me I’m pronouncing Voldemort’s name wrong
