Fox has purchased the script for one-hour drama The Crusaders from writer-director Thomas Ikimi. Ikimi, who penned the script, will executive produce alongside Idris Elba, as well as Lorenzo di Bonaventura and Dan McDermott of Di Bonaventura TV.

According to the network, the series centers on an extended family of second-generation Africans living in the U.S. and will follow their efforts in tracking down and subsequently returning valuables stolen from Africa during colonial occupation. Ikimi previously worked with Elba on 2010’s Legacy: Black Ops, a film Ikimi directed that premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival. It told the story of a soldier (played by Elba) who grows mentally unstable while staying in a Brooklyn motel room.
