Melissa McCarthy’s Michelle Darnell gets a new title

Melissa McCarthy’s upcoming Michelle Darnell has a new moniker: The Boss.

Originally named after the abrasive character McCarthy created years ago at the Groundlings Theater, the upcoming comedy follows a white-collar exec sent to prison for insider trading. After she’s released, she and her former assistant (Kristen Bell) attempt to rehab her image.

And in typical McCarthy fashion, Darnell has a pretty distinctive wig. “Michelle clawed for everything she had, and she did not do it in the most karmic way,” McCarthy told EW earlier this year.

McCarthy wrote the script with Steve Mallory and her husband, Ben Falcone, who also directs. The Boss will hit theaters on April 8, 2016.
