News that Ta-Nehisi Coates will write new Black Panther comics for Marvel excited everyone on Tuesday, including one high-profiled and tangentially related name to the series: Ava DuVernay.

The Selma director tweeted at Coates, one of America’s preeminent writers on race. She spared words, but opted for a GIF from Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.

Marvel is currently developing a Black Panther film starring Chadwick Boseman, and approached DuVernay to direct the project.

“For me, it was a process of trying to figure out, are these people I want to go to bed with? Because it’s really a marriage, and for this it would be three years,” DuVernay said in July about her reasons for turning down the project. “It’d be three years of not doing other things that are important to me. So it was a question of, is this important enough for me to do?”
