As millions of migrants seek salvation in Europe in an attempt to flee the civil wars and economic difficulties plaguing their home countries, news stations are beginning to pick up some of these stories. But as John Oliver notes, that coverage has been, in some cases, sadly misleading.

Oliver took a look at the refugee crisis and the news stories being reported on it during Sunday’s Last Week Tonight. In particular, the host criticizes Fox News’ use of years-old video as evidence of the threat these refugees may pose. He also spotlights a heartbreaking story of a 16-year-old Syrian refugee Noujain Mustaffa. Oliver highlights not just the news coverage but the trials that Noujain and millions of other refugees face with the various — and at times problematic — processes used to grant them asylum.
