Viola Davis illustrated the dangers of walking and texting before her appearance on Tuesday’s episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live! Host Jimmy Kimmel showed the How to Get Away With Murder star walking into his studio while looking at her phone, and promptly getting creamed by a bus.

“Miraculously, she’s fine,” Kimmel told the crowd after showing Davis’ “accident.”

And fine she was. Davis recently became the first African-American woman to win Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series for HTGAWM, and told Kimmel that her impassioned acceptance speech — which quoted Harriet Tubman — could have turned out different.

“I did prepare that. Now there were two quotes I could go with. I said, ‘If I go with the Harriet Tubman, they may think it’s militant. Or I could go with the other quote, but they may be confused. Let me go militant,'” Davis said.
