There’s still more than a month left before you can go fight crime with Jessica Jones, but Marvel is ramping up the excitement (and on New Comic Book Day, no less) with the release of a free prequel comic by Brian Michael Bendis and Michael Gaydos. Bendis and Gaydos are the creative team behind Alias, the comic that provided inspiration for the upcoming Netflix series. (You can see Jones going to work at Alias Investigations in the newest teaser.)

The prequel only gives us hints of what we might see when the series debuts, but it does include references to and cameos from characters in Marvel’s other Netflix series, Daredevil — suggesting that, as is the case with all Marvel TV properties, “it’s all connected.” (The remaining Hell’s Kitchen superheroes in the Netflix franchise, Luke Cage and Iron Fist, will follow sometime in 2016.)
