Kanye West joined #DadTwitter on Friday night, railing against in-app purchases on children’s games.
“F— any game company that puts in-app purchases on kids games!!!” West wrote. “That makes no sense!!! We give the iPad to our child and every 5 minutes there’s a new purchase!!! If a game is made for a 2 year old, just allow them to have fun and give the parents a break for Christ sake.”
In an ironic twist, West’s complaints echo similar ones made last year by author Ayelet Waldman, who posted a series of tweets slamming Kim Kardashian, West’s wife, over her game’s in-app purchases.
“Evil, vile Kardashian Hollywood tricked my 11 yr old into spending $120 in 2 days. He’s crying hysterically. Pox on those f—ers,” Waldman tweeted. “We’d set up what we thought were restricted allowances, but bc there was a card attached, I’m now funding Kim Kardashian’s lip gloss.”
Last year, CNN reported that Kardashian makes $700,000 per day from her app game. As of this writing, neither Waldman nor Kardashian has acknowledged West’s tweets.
