How did Amy Schumer prepare to host Saturday Night Live, beyond actual preparation and hard work? By posting a throwback pic to Twitter and sharing a text conversation she had with Kevin Hart.
“Excuse me, Mom and Dad, I am hosting Saturday Night Live tonight,” Schumer wrote alongside a photo of herself as a young child.
She then posted a text from Hart, who hosted the show earlier this year. “Hey I know your hosting SNL tonight… If you get nervous during your monologue just tell the audience that you know me,” Hart wrote. “I promise it will help.”
Schumer joked that the text was “hostile,” but after some sites picked up her tweet in a negative context, the Trainwreck star clarified that she and Hart are friends.
“Hey click bait, Kevin’s text was funny. He was messing with me. We are friends. Booooo,” Schumer wrote.
Schumer will host SNL on Saturday night beginning at 11:35 p.m. ET on NBC. Follow along with the fun at our live blog right here.
