Stephen Colbert and James Corden teamed up to sing a song that perfectly illustrated their relationship on Friday night’s episode of The Late Show.

The Late Show and Late Late Show hosts reminisced about their prior experience harmonizing “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas” together on The Colbert Report. Since it’s not yet December, the two chose a less Christmas-y song: “Me and My Shadow,” a classic once sung by Frank Sinatra and Sammy Davis Jr. and a perfect match for the hosts who work back to back every night.

“Like you’ll never get rid of your shadow, Steve, you’ll never get rid of me,” Corden sang.

It wasn’t only in the lines, but the way in which the duo delivered them — “Not a soul can bust this team in two, we’ll stick together like glue” —  that demonstrated the camaraderie between the late-night hosts, grabbing hands and dancing their way to the stage.
