At the heart of NBC’s Blindspot are a few sinister secrets, and even the cast is left mostly in the dark.

Blindspot’s Audrey Esparza, Rob Brown, Sullivan Stapleton, Ashley Johnson, and Marianne Jean-Baptiste stopped by EW and Sirius XM’s suite at New York Comic Con to dish all about the freshman thriller after recently receiving a full season order. The action-packed series follows Jane Doe (Jaimie Alexander) as an amnesiac mysteriously left in Times Square with complex tattoos mapped across her skin that reveal a much larger picture. With plenty of twists and turns, the cast admitted they don’t always know what’s ahead for their individual characters.

“There’s certain aspects of the show whereby a certain character has to know certain things; a link to the mystery. And then you know that bit. But there might be other stuff that you’re not aware of,” Jean-Baptiste said. “But as an actor, you don’t want to play something that’s going to happen in four episodes time. You want to be as organic about your performance as possible.”

Though they may not know everything that’s in store, the cast did reveal there are even more action sequences heading our way – involving helicopters. Check out the video above to hear about Esparza’s first (but not last) helicopter experience, and more, above.

Blindspot airs Mondays at 10 p.m. ET on NBC.
