Tab Hunter rose to movie stardom in the 1950s, when homosexuality wasn’t just taboo, it was illegal. So Hunter, who starred in films like Battle Cry and Damn Yankees!, did what he could to keep his private life private, but he wasn’t always successful.

Early in his career, Hunter was arrested after the cops broke up a party he was attending. As the clip from the new documentary Tab Hunter Confidential explains, Warner Bros. had a vested interest in making sure that the incident didn’t dent their box office receipts.
