Star Wars: The Force Awakens trailer: A video glimpse of Monday's reveal

(Lucas Films)

With the full trailer for Star Wars: The Force Awakens on its way Monday night, Lucasfilm has begun releasing short glimpses of what to expect.

First up, we see John Boyega’s escaped stormtrooper in the middle of a busy runway at a Resistance base. One of the pilots climbing down from his X-Wing is Oscar Isaac’s Poe Dameron, who gives him a hearty “hail-fellow-well-met.” It’s not clear what their history is before this moment, but the seem to know each other already (even if Finn looks a little bewildered).

Another snippet of video was sent out featuring Finn at the beginning of that same sequence, Poe at night with a rifle, and Daisy Ridley’s Rey peering off into the middle distance – each with looks of foreboding.

Another clip was also released, this one showcasing a shot we saw a few months back of Rey in the woods with BB-8, looking up with worry toward the sky.

Now we know what she was seeing: an aerial assault by the shrieking TIE Fighters of The First Order.

Check back here later in case there are more. Like these three characters, we’ll be keeping our eyes open with similar nervous expressions on our faces.
