Rockapella reunited to perform the 'Where In the World is Carmen Sandiego?' theme

(PBS)

The world at large has spent 30 years looking for Carmen Sandiego, and to celebrate the Scholastic game’s 30th anniversary, Mashable reunited a cappella group Rockapella to sing the Where In the World Is Carmen Sandiego? theme song.

Based on the Broderbund game, Where In the World is Carmen Sandiego? aired on PBS from 1991-1995, and is perhaps best remembered now for its opening, an infectious song that taught millennials about geography and harmony.

“The inspiration was a Jane’s Addiction song called ‘Caught Stealing,’” Rockapella co-founder Sean Altman told Mashable. “That was really hip at the time, and we tried to be hip with that group. It came out sounding very doo-wop.”
