Grandfathered was just grandfathered in for the rest of the season.

One day after announcing that The Grinder had been granted a full season, Fox ordered nine more episodes of the comedy starring John Stamos as a bachelor who’s trying to reform his wild ways after he finds out that he is both father and grandfather.

The news also comes two weeks after the network ordered six additional scripts from Grandfathered and The Grinder, though neither show has proven to be a ratings powerhouse. The show’s debut last month netted 5.4 million viewers and a 1.4 rating in the 18–49 demo; it’s averaging a 1.2 rating this season.

Dr. Phil McGraw and Stamos’ former Full House co-stars Bob Saget and Dave Coulier are among the celebrities on Grandfathered’s guest list this season.
