Project Runway is wrapping its 14th season on Thursday. Fans — and even the mentor — of the show have noted how the designers don’t seem as “hungry” as they used to be. What’s one surefire way to get designers who are eager with energy? Recruit teens.
Project Runway Junior features teens aged 13–17 who are probably the most passionate designers we’ve seen from the franchise … ever — and EW has your exclusive first look.

From the supertease above, we’ve learned the following will appear on the show: the button bag, lots of screaming, an unconventional challenge, a crying Kelly Osbourne, New York Fashion Week, and MICHELLE OBAMA. But the highlight comes when a teen girl tells Tim Gunn she’s designing a look for an older woman, you know, “maybe like 30s.” This should be fun.
Tim Gunn will continue his role as mentor, but model Hannah Davis will be filling the Heidi Klum role as host. Kelly Osbourne, season 4 Runway winner Christian Siriano, and Seventeen and Cosmopolitan executive fashion editor Aya Kanai will be judges.
Project Runway Junior will premiere Thursday, Nov. 12, at 9 p.m. ET on Lifetime.
