Rory Feek of husband-and-wife country duo Joey + Rory reports that his cancer-stricken wife will move home to hospice care Tuesday. In an entry on his Life I Live blog, a site detailing his wife’s journey, Feek notes his acceptance of this decision.

“Joey is at peace with where she is and where she’s going,” Feek wrote Monday. “So am I.”

Rory was rushed to the hospital Friday morning, where doctors informed the couple that inflammation from her cervical cancer tumors caused pain. The couple’s 18-month-old daughter Indiana spent time with her mom while in the hospital, and Rory says a play area will be set up near Joey’s bedside while she is in hospice.

“Joey’s hope is that our little one will be able to sit on my lap in days to come and turn pages and hear her mama reading to her,” Rory says.

Joey had been undergoing chemotherapy but in his Oct. 23 post, Rory reported that further treatment for her stage four cervical cancer would no longer be pursued.

The 40-year-old country singer has already said goodbye to her stepdaughters, Heidi and Hopie. When Indiana visited over the weekend, Joey read and sang “In The Garden,” an inspirational song the couple is known for performing.

“Perfect love filled that hospital room as we all held our breath and wiped our eyes,” Rory said of the visit.
