Erykah Badu has shared another glimpse of her upcoming mixtape, But You Caint Use My Phone. The neo-soul singer posted “Phone Down” via Apple Music’s Connect service Monday night, along with a confirmation that the anticipated project will come out Thanksgiving weekend. The official audio comes after Badu shared a Periscope stream of the video shoot for “Phone Down” last week.

Listeners first got a taste of Badu’s new mixtape when she shared her cover of Drake’s “Hotline Bling” — the seven-minute “HOTLINE BLING BUT U CAINT USE MY PHONE MIX” — in October. “That’s my brother, he’s like a little brother to me,” Badu told The FADER last week when discussing the rapper, and in her post of “Phone Down” she commented, “This leak this one’s for Aubrey.”

Badu released her most recent album in 2010. “I’m writing all the time,” she told Noisey in October. “But recently I got the bug back. When it comes, it comes.” The singer suggested in the same interview that she would release But You Caint Use My Phone in early November, but based on her Connect post and FADER interview, that date appears to have been delayed.
