After a fraught week in which Tamar Braxton’s health nearly forced her off of Dancing With the Stars only to make it back onto the show in the nick of time, the singer has announced via Instagram that she’s been eliminated from the show for good due to pressing medical reasons.
“With a Heavy [sic] heart I regret to inform you that my season of #dwts has come to an end along with the rest of my tour dates with @musicbykem,” Braxton wrote on Instagram on Tuesday night. “After yesterday’s final #dwts performance I went back to the hospital (after the doctors didn’t want me to leave in the first place) only to find out that I don’t have pneumonia but something way more serious and that is having several P.E.’s (blood clots in both sides of my lungs).”

Braxton’s exit is the second elimination this season brought on by medical problems, the first being Kim Zolciak-Bierman’s September disqualification after she had a ministroke.
But Braxton is keeping her chin up through the ordeal: “I woke up to a mirror and saw myself this morning, and that makes me the winner because that almost wasn’t the case,” she wrote on Instagram, following with a loving tribute to her DWTS partner Val Chmerkovskiy.
