Paul Rudd’s Ant-Man costume didn’t come together overnight. Artist Andy Park contributed a number of designs for potential use in the Peyton Reed-directed Marvel movie. Showing off just how different the suit could have looked, Park released a few of these concepts on Twitter.

“Before creating Ant-Man’s final look I did several different options keeping [with] the retro look necessary,” he tweeted. He later wrote, “These were fun but I’m happy [with] what they picked.”

As Marvel Studios visual development supervisor, Park designed concepts for Guardians of the Galaxy, Avengers: Age of Ultron, and Thor: The Dark World. He also worked on Captain America: Civil War, which will return Ant-Man to the fold on May 6, 2016.

Rudd will also continue his non-Avenging adventures in Ant-Man and the Wasp, in which Evangeline Lilly’s Hope van Dyne will fulfill her comic book destiny by becoming the Wasp. The sequel is scheduled for release on July 5, 2018.
