The sixth annual CMT Artists of the Year Special will take place Wednesday, Dec. 2 and the program announced it’s bestowing special honors on genre icon Kenny Rogers and 2015 breakout Chris Stapleton.

Rogers, who has 120 charted hits across multiple genres to his name, will receive the second ever Artist of a Lifetime award. Merle Haggard was awarded the only other award of this kind, last year.

Also appropriately, Stapleton will receive the first ever CMT Artists of the Year Breakout award. He will also perform during the live broadcast — though following his own CMA act with Justin Timberlake will surely be easier said than done.

Other announced honorees include Blake Shelton, Luke Bryan, Florida Georgia Line, Little Big Town, and Sam Hunt.
