Gwen Stefani explains meaning behind 'I Used To Love You' on Ellen

Gwen Stefani visited Ellen on Friday and shared the story behind her latest song, “I Used To Love You,” which she also performed on the show a few weeks ago.

“It was super emotional,” Stefani says of the performance. She had written the song just as news broke that she and Gavin Rossdale were going through a divorce. “I’m having a lot of fun. It’s like a whole new life, a whole new new chapter,” she says. “It’s so fun to be on The Voice, to be around that music.”

She also spoke about Blake Shelton, her boyfriend and Voice co-host. “I didn’t even know who he was before I was on the show,” she says. “He knows every single ’80s songs. He’s a musical jukebox.” (She wouldn’t confirm if he was a good kisser, though. Nice try, Ellen.)
