Trump rivals will get their equal air time on NBC stations

(NBC)

It’s not quite the same as appearing on the Saturday Night Live stage opposite the likes of Cecily Strong and Larry David, but rivals of Donald Trump will get their equal time on NBC.

After Trump hosted the show Nov. 7, Trump’s competition for the Republican nomination had seven days to request equal time from the network. Looks like only four asked — John Kasich, Mike Huckabee, James Gilmore and Lindsey Graham — so NBC will give the candidates their day in the sun. Or night under the stars, rather.

Airtime for the candidates, an insider said, will be allocated on the 18 NBC affiliate stations in Iowa, New Hampshire, and South Carolina and will include network commercial and promo time during primetime hours on Nov. 27 and 28. The four men will also get some time during SNL on Nov. 28‎.

Each candidate should get roughly 12 minutes of airtime — the amount of exposure Trump enjoyed on SNL.
