Hear the rules from the mysterious invaders of an occupied L.A. in exclusive Colony first look

(USA Network)

USA’s upcoming sci-fi drama Colony is almost here, and EW has your first look into the invaded city of L.A. in which the show is set.

The clip is a news update, in which Proxy Alan Snyder (Peter Jacobson, who you may recognize from House and Ray Donovan) is urging the citizens of occupied L.A. to follow the laws of the new order, which we learn has been around for ten months at this point. The main conflict of Colony, as creator Carlton Cuse puts it, is the conflict between the collaborators and the resistance in response to the occupying force. Clearly, Snyder is an authority figure on the side of the collaborators.

The clip will actually not appear in the premiere episode, but will be part of a series exclusive to the show’s website, ColonyTV.com. A new update from Snyder will be added online following each new episode, and the site will also be hosting several new pieces of content beginning Tuesday to tease the world of Colony. In January, they will launch a full digital companion experience.

Colony premieres on Thursday, Jan. 14 at 10 p.m. ET on USA.
