Get ready for another Sunday Funday: FXX’s acclaimed anti-romantic relationship comedy You’re the Worst is getting a third season.

The cable network has renewed the modestly rated series, plus made a multi-year deal with showrunner Stephen Falk to develop new projects.

“Stephen is one of the best new talents in comedy — as funny, thoughtful and original as You’re the Worst and we can’t wait to see what he comes up with next,” said Nick Grad, head of original programming for FX Networks. “You’re the Worst, already one of the most critically-acclaimed comedies on television, is also one of the most innovative, something Stephen and the cast will continue in the much-deserved third season. The daring turn this season, led by the honest and respectful portrayal of Gretchen’s depression, was a very courageous move for a comedy and another milestone for You’re the Worst.”

The current second season is airing Wednesday nights on FXX. Recent episodes have taken a daring detour for a comedy series by exploring clinical depression in an arc that some fans find taxing and others compelling.

The series stars Chris Geere and Aya Cash. Season 3 will debut next summer.
