Former NFL quarterback Brett Favre officially retired from the game in January 2011. And as the Green Bay Packers legend turns 2015 into a victory lap – Favre recently had his No. 4 retired by the team – he appeared as a guest on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon to do something he hasn’t done since stepping off the football field: throw a football.

That’s at least what Favre told Jimmy Fallon as the late-night host had the quarterback try to hit tossed plates with a football on Wednesday’s show. “I haven’t thrown in five years,” Favre said during the bit’s set-up.

Whether or not that’s true, Favre was a bit rusty: he missed bad on his first two attempts before hitting the plates twice. During his playing days, Favre had a career completion percentage of 62 percent. At least he didn’t throw any interceptions.
